ARAS Robot (III), Revolutionizing Ophthalmology Education at Farabi Hospital
The Translational Ophthalmology Research Center at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, in collaboration with Farabi Hospital, has been exploring advanced technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, to enhance ophthalmology training. This led to a partnership with the Arash Robotics Group at Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology, resulting in the Arash Assist surgical robot. The third version of this robot was successfully tested in the Farabi Hospital operating room using a donated human eye unsuitable for transplantation due to biological contamination. The robot includes two arms: one controlled by the master surgeon, whose movements are transmitted to the other arm, enabling the assistant surgeon to receive haptic feedback. Laparoscopic Training Model Successfully Developed at Ziaian Hospital
A laparoscopic training model has been successfully designed and constructed at Ziaiean Hospital of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Dr. Farzad Vaghef Davari, a faculty member of surgical oncology and the designer of this model, stated that the goal of building this model was to train surgeons, surgical residents, and operating room staff on how to perform laparoscopic surgery, which was successfully started and completed at Ziaeian Hospital.
Farabi Hospital, On the Path to Be a Paperless Healthcare Institution
For more than a year, Farabi Hospital officials have been seriously implementing the electronic records process in this center, and by providing the necessary infrastructure and hardware and software platform, they are moving towards eliminating paper records from the treatment process. This process has accelerated with Farabi Hospital being selected as a green hospital of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and today, after a year, more than 60,000 electronic records have been created for patients at this hospital.
