In this episode of TUMS EDGE, Dr. Mohammad Reza Mohajeri Tehrani, Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, explains a new treatment for diabetic foot ulcers using amniotic membrane. Compared to the standard moist gauze dressing method, this treatment significantly improves wound healing and control, and reduces the need for hospitalization and amputation. Iran is one of the few countries that has successfully produced this product, which is now used nationwide.

In this TUMS EDGE episode, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Ghahremani discussed his article entitled 'Targeted therapy of breast cancer stem cell tumorigenesis using SAHA and Wnt beta-catenin antagonist loaded on gold nanoparticle protein corona.' He stated that the growth of cancer stem cells can be inhibited and these cells can be converted into non-cancerous cells by using two drugs, SAHA and a Wnt beta-catenin antagonist.
