Implementation of the National Nutrition Campaign at the TUMS South Tehran Health Center
The nutrition improvement expert at the South Tehran Health Center announced the launch of the National Nutrition Campaign program.
As per TUMS Sina Media report, Mobina Mirzaei, the nutrition improvement expert at the center, said that educational classes on healthy nutrition, and oil knowledge were held on Saturday, 17th of November 2024, at the TUMS Comprehensive Health Service Centers.
She added, "Zahra Alahiari, a nutritionist at the Imam Sadiq (PBUH) Health Center, conducted an educational session on healthy nutrition for students at Al-Ghadir and Mir Miran schools. The session covered the importance of consuming a healthy breakfast, how healthy nutrition affects learning ability, memory, and physical capabilities, as well as the prevention of obesity in children, the consequences of obesity and overweight in later life, and its connection with diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and cancers."
Sahar Khaksar, a nutritionist at the TUMS Javadiyeh Health Center, also organized an educational class on oil knowledge as part of the National Nutrition Campaign for mothers at the Kiyan Creative Institute. In this session, she emphasized the importance of avoiding sugar and sweets for breakfast, consuming breakfast, choosing healthy snacks such as bread with cheese, eggs, fruits, and raw carrots, refraining from soft drinks, limiting snacks, consuming whole grains and mixed rice, using liquid oils instead of solid or vegetable oils, and the benefits of plant oils like olive, canola, and sesame oils. Additionally, she discussed the proper storage of oils and their impact on health.
