TUMS Chancellor Appoints Dr. Arash Rashidian as Vice-Chancellor for Health
TUMSPR News: Dr. Ali Jafarian, TUMS Chancellor, appointed Dr. Arash Rashidian, a facuty member of TUMS School of Public Health, as the Vice-chancellor for Health of the University on October 2, 2013
Dr. Ali Jafarian, the Caretaker for Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), appointed Dr. Arash Rashidian, an associate professor of TUMS School of Public Health ((SPH), as the Vice-chancellor for Health of the University on October 2, 2013.
In another letter, the Chancellor has suggested Rashidian to the Minister of Health to consider him as the Caretaker of Iran’s National Institute for Health Research.
- In the appointment letter, Jafarian has expected the appointee to help materialize the state’s 20-year visionary plan by following the objectives of the institute’s Comprehensive Science Map in [health] services in a given time frame
- Positive interaction with the health deputy minister's agendas to implement major health system policies in the University
- Relating with provincial and national institutions and agencies to improve the quantity and quality of health services rendered in areas under TUMS coverage
- Practically integrating education with primary health care by establishing appropriate mechanisms
TUMS provides health services to a population of about 4 million people in South Tehran and its suburban areas including Islamshahr and Shahr-e-Ray, two large cities with numerous townships and villages in South-West and South-East Tehran
