Congratulations to the dedicated transplant teams at Hakim Children’s Hospital and Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex on achieving a remarkable milestone in pediatric transplantation.

Tehran University of Medical Sciences proudly congratulates the multidisciplinary teams involved in successfully performing the first pediatric living donor liver transplantation at Hakim Children’s Hospital on 8 July 2026.

This complex procedure was made possible through the close collaboration of expert teams across both hospitals, with the donor surgery performed at Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex and the recipient operation carried out at Hakim Children’s Hospital.

We are delighted to hear that the young recipient has been extubated and is currently in stable condition.

This achievement reflects the expertise, commitment, and teamwork of the surgeons, physicians, nurses, coordinators, and all staff members who contributed to this life-saving intervention.

Congratulations to all colleagues involved on this important accomplishment for pediatric transplantation in Iran and the region.
