TUMS Chancellor’s Message for Academic Year 2013

Through a message on September 23, 2013, Dr. Ali Jafarian, the newly appointed Chancellor for Tehran University of Medical Sciecnes (TUMS), congratulated the New Academic Year 2013 to the faculties and students.

Saying that his appointment as a caretaker for the University has coincided with the opening of the University, he has congratulated the New Academic Year to the faculties and students and has earnestly asked them to help him in this great responsibility to better serve the academic society and people alike.

Reminding that the University owes its prosperity and current position atop all other higher education universities in the health domain to great job of people such as professor Hessabi, Professor Shams, Professor Yahya Adl, etc., he has asked each and everyone to protect this precious heritage. He has also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Bastan-Hagh, TUMS First Chancellor after separation of medical education from the Ministry of Science, Dr. Zafarghandi, the Second, Dr. Bagher Larijani, the Third, and Dr. Mohammadreza Mansouri, the Fourth Chancellor and said “respecting each other” could serve as a motto for the year ahead. By respecting each other, faculties, students, staff, clients, and patients, he has reasoned, we could influence the environment around us.

Congratulating the New Academic Year once again, he has considered the beginning of his term and beginning of the News Academic Year as a good luck and has asked God to help him in delivering his duties.

After serving as a caretaker for a university for a short period, the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution endorses the appointees as chancelllors.
